RICE- Jhum paddy: The crop is now generally in maturity stage. If 80% of Jhum crop is matured, after 1-2 bright sunny days, do harvesting. Due to continuous heavy rainfall in last week, in some area the crop is damaged, as far as possible carefully harvest the remaining crop and immediately prepare the field for sowing of rabi vegetables.
GINGER- The crop is now in rhizome development stage. Manual weeding is advised. Monitor properly the crops against any disease and insect symptoms. Maintain proper drainage and field hygiene.
MUSTARD- During clear/dry days sowing of fresh seeds may be done in well prepared land. Recommended climate resilient varieties for Arunachal Pradesh: TS-36, TS-38 and M-27. Ensure proper drainage in the field. Check the germination percentage of already sown seeds and do re-sowing in areas where crop is damaged by prolonged rain in the previous week.
GROUNDNUT- Keep the field weed free. Leaf spot of groundnut- Spraying of mancoz @ 2.5 g/litre of water should be done 2 to 3 times at seven days interval.
SESAME- Keep the field weed free. Provide proper drainage channel to drain out the excess water from the field.
