Advisory for livestock and poultry farming

PIG- In current weather condition of frequent rain and lowering of temperature, always ensure dry bedding materials for the animals. Always provide well cooked food and clean drinking water to avoid microbial infection which is very common in current weather condition.

CHICKEN- In current weather condition, protection of the flocks against coccidiosis disease is very important. Anti-coccidia drugs viz. Cocci Plus, Amprolium, etc. should be added in plain clean water and feed. Only medicated water should be given to the birds if they are found sick.

COW- In present weather conditions, special care should be taken against attack of maggots in the wounds of animals. Application of turpentine oil in the wounds followed by application of antibiotics for five days is advised.
