GARDEN PEA- Current weather is favourable for field preparation for sowing of pea. Line sowing with the help of seed drill or opening the furrows at 30-40 cm between the rows. The seed should be placed 5 to 6 cm deep in the soil. Seeds  may be inoculated with Rhizobium culture for quick fixation of atmospheric nitrogen. The seed rate of 75 to 80 kg /ha is recommended. Recommended varieties: Azad pea-1, VL-42, VL-40.

ORANGE- Crop is now in fruit development stage. Weather is very much favorable for fruit-fly infestation. To control fruit-fly, use methyl eugenol traps for trapping of the flies in trap containing 0.05 percent malathion mixed with orange juice in one litre water.

BANANA- The crop is mainly in fruiting development/ maturity stage. The current hot and humid climate favors “cigar-end-rot” disease in mid-hills. To prevent ‘cigar end rot’ disease, remove the pistil and perianth carefully from the fully emerged fingers and spray the bunch with Indofil M-45 @ 2.5 ml/litre.
