Advisory for horticulture crops

CABBAGE- The crop is mainly in nursery/transplantation stage. In current weather, always ensure proper moisture level in the field. Light irrigation is advised as per the need. Strict monitoring against cutworm must be done. Usually, it is necessary to dig in the soil to find black cutworm larvae and destroy it manually. Larvae normally hide under debris on the soil surface during the day, but are active, voracious feeders at night.

ORANGE- Crop is now in fruit development stage. In case of incidence of citrus mite, which is very common in current weather condition, please spray Dicofol @1.5 ml per liter of water. Repeat after 15 days interval.

GUAVA- Guava is now in maturity/harvesting stage in most of the places. Immediately harvest the ready to harvest fruits before it get fully ripen. There is high risk of fruit fly infestation in fully ripen fruits. To control fruit fly, use methyl eugenol pheromone traps for trapping the flies in a trap containing 0.05 percent malathion mixed with orange juice in one liter of water.
