Advisory for farmers doing Animal Husbandry
ANIMAL HUSBANDARY- Immediately after birth, nostrils and muzzle of new born calf should be thoroughly cleaned with a clean towel so that it can breathe easily.
Calves should be given first milk (colostrum) of mother for 3 days as it builds up calf immunity.
It should given @ 1/10 of body weight.
During the first month of their birth, calves often suffer from pneumonia and mortality occurs, so their sheds should be kept clean and dry to maintain the body temperature.
