Advisory for farmers doing Animal Husbandry

ANIMAL HUSBANDARY- During the last two months of gestation, animals should be given balanced ration according to their need as this will increase their production after calving.

• No sudden changes should be done in animal ration during this time and stop using mineral mixture in animal feed atleast 20 days before calving.
• Animal shows heat symptoms within 60-70 days again.
• Shorter intercalving interval is the cornerstone of a successful dairy enterprise.
• At birth, the new borne calves should weigh 25-30 kilo so that it can grow at the required pace and gain sexually mature at the earliest.
