Advisory for farmers cultivating Ragi, Maize, Paddy and Sugarcane crops

FINGER MILLET- In view of the possibility of moderate rainfall in the next five days, do not harvest the crop now and do the harvesting only when the weather is clear.

MAIZE- In the valley and low altitude areas, harvesting should be done keeping in mind the weather forecast, so in view of the forecast of moderate rainfall in the coming days, avoid the harvesting of crops.

PADDY- In the case of brown planthopper in the paddy and if the number is very high, spray clothianidin 50 WDG @ 30g/ha on the stem. On the occurrence of false smut, spray copper hydroxide 77WP (kocide) @ 2kg/ha. If it is few in number then remove the affected panicle. Spraying should be done by keeping in view the weather forecast.

SUGARCANE- To control the mealybug in sugarcane, spray monocrotophos @ 2ml/litre water. Spraying should be done by keeping in view the weather forecast.
