Advisory for farmers cultivating Onion, Potato and Cabbage

Onion- Weather is suitable for sowing of rabi onion.

• Seed rate- 10 kg\ha.
• Before sowing seeds should be treated with Captain @ 2.5 g/kg of seeds.

Potato- Sowing of potato should be done as soon as possible.

• Selection of cultivars can be done on the basis of need.
• Cultivars:- Kufri Badshah (Late blight tolerant), Kufri Jyoti (Short duration), Kufri Alankar, Kufri Chandramukhi.
• Row to row(45cm to 20cm) or plant to plant (60cm to 15cm) spacing is advised.
• Seed treatment with 2.0 gm Carbendazim mixed per litre of water per kilogram of seed for five minute should be done.
• Thereafter, seeds should be dried in shade before planting in the field.

Cabbage- After 30 and 50 days, in the standing crop of late cabbage, 66 kg of nitrogen per hectare should be given.
