Advisory for farmers cultivating Guava and Apple fruits

GUAVA- To protect guava from canker disease, after fruiting, spray copper hydroxide at 2 gm per liter.

• Injury to the fruit can be prevented by using foam net while bagging the fruit after 50 days of berry shaped flowering.

APPLE- To control the fruit Rot disease in apple and seed bearing fruits, soil should be removed from the surrounded area of stem in the affected fruit tree so that sun rays may enter directly in the stem of affected tree.

• Affected bark should be removed and chaubatia paste should be applied and covered with soil.
