MUSTARD- It is best time and weather for sowing of mustard. The sowing must be completed by first week on November. If land preparation not done yet, do it immediately. A clean and well pulverised seedbed of good tilth is needed for better germination. The land should be well prepared first by ploughing deep, followed by two cross harrowings. Care should be taken to see that weeds and stubbles are well removed from the field and the soil contains adequate moisture.
GINGER- Crop is mainly in maturity/harvesting stage. Harvesting of mature crop in present weather conditions may be done. Ginger attains full maturity in 210-240 days after planting. Harvesting of ginger for vegetable purpose starts after 180 days based on the demand. However, for making dry ginger, the matured rhizomes are harvested at full maturity i.e. when the leaves turn yellow and start drying. Late harvest is also practiced, as the crop does not deteriorate by leaving it for some months underground.
GREEN GRAM- The crop is mainly in flowering/pod development stage. Maintain proper cleanliness in the field and remove weeds around the field which may harbor insects. Light irrigation is advised during morning or evening hours as per the need and soil moisture condition. Regular monitoring of the field is advised.
