Advisory for crops

Ravi Crops:-

• Field preparation should be started for early mustard sowing.
• Farmers are advised to do arrangement for quality seeds.Sowing of gram and
• lentil should be completed in lower areas.
• Make preparations for early wheat sowing in lower regions.

Fodder Crops:

• Cut grasses before flowering and dry for future needs.
• African tall variety of maize and makchari can be sown as catch crops for animal fodder.
• Sowing berseem, lucerne and oats for fodder of Rabi season also advised.
• Prepare silage out of extra fodder of maize to meet the requirement of fodder during lean periods, especially in the month of December and January.
• The lantana weeds in the grasslands may be cut so that regenerated growth during September can be sprayed with 1% glyphosate for its control Advised to sowing of fodder maize.
