Care of animals two months before delivery

Livestock: Stop the milking two months before calving, keep feeding them balanced feed at the rate of but 2 kg/day. After calving, for the next 7-8 days the animal should be given jaggery mixed porridge 1.5 kg twice a day.

• Take proper care of newborn calves. Within 1-2 hours after birth, give them fresh milk of the mother, the quantity of the milk should be 1/10 of their body weight.
• Watch for signs of overheating in animals in the morning and evening.
