Start sowing of paddy varieties recommended by PAU, Ludhiana

RICE- Farmers are advised to sow the nursery of recommended varieties of rice i.e. PR 121, PR 122, PR 123, PR 124, PR 126, PR 127, PR 128, PR 129, PR 113, PR 114 and HKR 47during the period. Treat the seed with sprint 75 WS by making slurry of 3g fungicide formulation in 10-12 ml of water for 1kg seed before sowing to prevent primary seed borne infection.

• Adopt direct seeding of rice to conserve water.
• For the management of root-knot nematode, apply mustard cake @40 g per square metre 10 days before sowing of nursery with last preparatory tillage operation after rauni.
