Farmers cultivating Tomato, Spinach and Onion should keep these things in mind

Tomato- Harvest the tomatoes by twisted hands to separate fruits from the stems.

  • Fruits should be harvested early in morning and evening hours and kept in shade.
  • Collect the damaged fruits and leaves and buried them in the soil to avoid the attack of the shoot borer in Tomato.
  • Install pheromone trap @ 25 per hac if pest population is high.
  • To control the attack of mites in tomatoes, spray Propargite 57 % EC @ 10 ml/ 10 L of water under a clear sky.

Spinach- Farmers are advised to go for sowing of crop.

Onion- Farmers are advised to prepare fields for planting onion bulbs sets for seed production by second fortnight of August at the spacing of 15X10cm.
