Farmers cultivating Tomato, Paddy and Maize should keep these things in mind
TOMATO- Proper drainage, staking and weeding.
Pruning of lower leaves upto 15-20 cm height to control the attack of late blight in Tomato. To control the attack of late blight spray Mancozeb or Dithane-M-45@ 250 gm/100 L of water. Collect the damaged fruits and leaves and buried them in the soil to avoid the attack of the shoot borer in Tomato.
Install pheromone trap @ 25 per hac if pest population is high.
Keeping in view the weather conditions, spraying of recommended chemicals is advised.
RICE- Use PAU-Leaf colour chart for need based urea application.
Complete transplanting of rice immediately if not done.
To control the attack of rice stem borer (July to October) spray Coragen 18.5 SC (Chlorantraniliprole) 60 ml in 100 L water per acre.
MAIZE- To control the attack of maize borer uproot and destroy the damaged plants.
To control the attack of shoot borer release Trichogramma 8 cards/ha at 15 days after germination.
To control the attack of shoot borer spray Coragen 18.5 SC (Chlorantraniliprole) 30 ml in 60 L water per acre.
To control the attack of termites apply 160 chloropyriphos 20 EC mixed with 2 kg sand.
Proper drainage channels to avoid stagnation of water in maize field.
