Farmers cultivating Rice and Maize should keep these things in mind

Rice- Use PAU-Leaf color chart for need based urea application.

• Keep water standing in paddy field only for 2 weeks and thereafter apply irrigation 2 days after the flooded water has infiltrated into soil.
• To control sheath blight, keep the bunds of the field clean by removing weeds. Spray 150 ml Pulsor or 26.8 g Epic or 80 g Nativo or 200 ml Tilt in 200 L of water per acre.
• To control the attack of rice stem borer (July to October) spray Coragen 18.5 SC (Chlorantraniliprole) @ 60 ml in 100 L water per acre.

Maize- Hoeing and weeding should be done in the field.

• To control the attack of maize borer uproot the plants and burry them in the soil.
• To control the attack of shoot borer release Trichogramma 8 cards/ha at 15 days after germination.
• To control the attack of shoot borer spray Coragen 18.5 SC (Chlorantraniliprole) @ 30 ml in 60 L water per acre.
