Advisory for the farmers growing Rice

RICE- Apply irrigation to paddy crop, two days after the ponded water has infiltrated into the soil. Care should be taken that the field does not develop cracks.

• Use PAU-Leaf colour chart for need based urea application.
• To save the rice crop from sheath blight, keep the bunds of the field clean by removing grasses. If the symptoms of disease appears, then spray 150 ml Pulsor or 26.8 g Epic or 80 g Nativo or 200 ml Amistar Top or Tilt or Folicur/Orius in 200 litres ofwater per acre after weather clears up.
• In transplanted rice, apply second and third dose of 30 kg urea per acre each after 3 and 6 weeks of transplanting. The third split to short duration (PR 126 and PR 124) should be applied at 35 days of transplanting.
• Rouge out and destroy foot rot infected plants from Basmati fields.
• To manage rodent pests in rice crop, cover all the holes during evening and next day place 10 -10 gm bait of zinc phosphide inside these fresh holes at 6 inches deepth. To get better results adopt this practice in whole village at same time.
