Advisory for the farmers growing Rice

RICE- Keep water standing in paddy field only for 2 weeks and thereafter apply irrigation 2 days after the ponded water has infiltrated into soil.

• Apply second 1/3 dose of nitrogen 21 days after transplanting.
• To save the rice crop from sheath blight, keep the bunds of the field clean by removing grasses. If the symptoms of disease appears, then spray 150 mlPulsor or 26.8 g Epic or 80 g Nativo or 200 ml Amistar Top or Tilt or Folicur/Orius in 200 litres ofwater per acre after weather clears up.
• In transplanted rice, apply second and third dose of 30 kg urea per acre each after 3 and 6 weeks of transplanting. The third split to short duration (PR 126 and PR 124) should be applied at 35 days of transplanting.
• Transplanting of basmati varieties CSR 30, Basmati 370, Basmati 386 and Pusa Basmati 1509 should be done during the period.
• To manage rodent pests in rice crop, cover all the holes during evening and next day place 10-10 gm bait of zinc phosphide inside these fresh holes at 6 inches deepth. To get better results adopt this practice in whole village at same time.
