Advisory for the farmers growing Rice
RICE- Keep water standing in paddy field only for 2 weeks and thereafter apply irrigation 2 days after the ponded water has infiltrated into soil.
Apply second 1/3 dose of nitrogen 21 days after transplanting.
To save the rice crop from sheath blight, keep the bunds of the field clean by removing grasses. If the symptoms of disease appears, then spray 150 mlPulsor or 26.8 g Epic or 80 g Nativo or 200 ml Amistar Top or Tilt or Folicur/Orius in 200 litres ofwater per acre after weather clears up.
In transplanted rice, apply second and third dose of 30 kg urea per acre each after 3 and 6 weeks of transplanting. The third split to short duration (PR 126 and PR 124) should be applied at 35 days of transplanting.
Transplanting of basmati varieties CSR 30, Basmati 370, Basmati 386 and Pusa Basmati 1509 should be done during the period.
To manage rodent pests in rice crop, cover all the holes during evening and next day place 10-10 gm bait of zinc phosphide inside these fresh holes at 6 inches deepth. To get better results adopt this practice in whole village at same time.
