Advisory for the farmers growing Rice

As monsoon has arrived in Punjab and rainfall is expected in coming 48 hours, farmers can do transplanting of rice during the period.

RICE- Start Transplanting of rice during the period.

• At the time of transplanting, apply 30 kg urea per acre to medium soils.
• Complete the sowing of direct seeded rice (DSR).
• It is the optimum time for the sowing of nursery of Basmati-386, Basmati-370, CSR-30 and Pusa Basmati-1509 varieties.
• To check foot rot of Basmati rice, treat the seed and seedlings with Trichoderma harzianum talc based formulation as per recommendation.
