Advisory for the farmers growing Rice

RICE- Apply need based irrigation to paddy nursery.

• Apply second dose of nitrogen @ 26 kg urea/acre to the nursery sown during mid May.
• For the management of root-knot nematode, apply mustard cake @40 g per square metre 10 days before sowing of nursery with last preparatory tillage operation after rauni.
• This is the optimum time for the sowing of direct seeded rice (DSR).
• For direct sowing prefer rice varieties PR 121, PR, 124, PR 126, PR 127 and PR 129.
• Sow DSR only in medium to heavy textured soils.
• Treat 8 kg seed with 24 gm of sprint 75 WS by making slurry in 80-100 ml of water for before sowing to prevent primary seed borne infection.
