Advisory for Rice and Maize growing farmers
Rice- Farmers are advised for timely transplanting of paddy in well prepared puddled field. Maintain about 8-10 cm of water level in the fields at puddling time. Apply 40 Kg/ha phosphorus and 40 kg/ha potash and half nitrogen prior to last puddling operation for high yielding varieties before transplanting. Incorporate the fertilizers well in the top 10 cm of puddled soil.
Maize- To control the attack of maize borer use high seed rate to stage compensate for early attack. Uproot and destroy the damaged plants. To control the attack of termites apply 160 chloropyriphos 20 EC mixed with 2 kg sand.
