Advisory for farmers cultivating Wheat and Gram

WHEAT- Late sowing of wheat must be completed by 25 December otherwise yield decreases significantly.

• Delay in sowing due to decrease in temperature has adverse effect on germination and growth, so increase seed rate by 25 percent more seed i.e. 125 kg/ha and in coarse grain varieties by 25 percent in addition to seed rate.

CHICK PEA- Weeding and hoeing should be done in the crop sown in the last month.

• Farmers are advised to do light irrigation in the crop if there is a shortage of moisture in the field.
