Advisory for farmers cultivating sugarcane, green fodder and pulses

SUGARCANE- For management of sugarcane pyrilla, use chlorpyriphos 20 EC @ 600 ml/acrein 400 lt of water.

• Baru weed being alternate host of mite, remove it if growing around the sugarcane fields to prevent mite spread.

PULSES- It is the optimum time for the sowing of desi gram PDG 4 under rainfed conditions. Don’t sow this variety in humid areas od Punjab.

FODDER- It is the optimum time for the sowing of single cut oats varieties (OL 11, OL 12, OL 13 and OL 15) and malticut varieties (OL 10 and OL 14). Sow the oats crop in 20 cm apart rows with 25 kg of seed per acre.
