Advisory for farmers cultivating Rice, Maize, Sugarcane and Soybean crops
RICE- In the paddy field, within 2-3 days after water disappears from the surface, 5-7 cm irrigation should be done before the field cracks. Irrigation should be done keeping in mind the weather forecast. In case of yellow stem borer infestation in paddy, apply Chlorantraniliprole 0.4 G @ 10 kg/ha or Fipronil 0.3 GR @ 25 kg/ha by keeping 2 inches of water in the field within 50 days of transplanting.
MAIZE- In maize, two weeding and hoeing should be done 20 to 25 days after sowing.
SUGARCANE- In the first fortnight of August, tie 5-6 canes of each row together with dry leaves at a height of one and a half to two feet from the ground. Due to excessive rain and strong winds, sugarcane does not fall. If there is no rain for a long time, then apply light irrigation to maintain moisture in the field.
SOYABEAN- In soybean, do weeding twice at an interval of 20-25 days from sowing.
