Advisory for farmers cultivating Potato and Guava
POTATO- To control the late blight disease in potato, any one mixture of cymoxanil + mancozeb or Dimethomorph+ Mancozeb or Fenamidone + mancozeb @ 3.0 g/liter of water should be sprayed.
If the intensity of the disease increases, respray any one of the above-mentioned fungicides at an interval of 10-15 days but farmers are requested to use a mixed fungicide for spraying only once.
After spraying mixed fungicide, if the intensity of the disease subsides, spray Mancozeb @ 2.5 gm/ liter of water as per requirement.
GUAVA- To protect guava from canker disease, after fruiting, spray copper hydroxide at 2 gm per liter.
Injury to the fruit can be prevented by using foam net while bagging the fruit after 50 days of berry shaped flowering.
