Advisory for farmers cultivating Paddy and Maize crops

Paddy- Leaf color chart can be used for need based urea application.

• To control sheath blight,keep the bunds of the field clean by removing weeds. Spray 150 ml Pulsor or 26.8 g Epic or 80 g Nativo or 200 ml Tilt in 200 L of water per acre. (Weather should be clear).
• To control the attack of rice stem borer (July to October) spray Coragen 18.5 SC (Chlorantraniliprole) @ 60 ml in 100 L water per acre.
• Install pheromone traps @ 3-4/acre in the paddy fields for control of stem borer.

Maize- Do not allow the rain water to stand in the crop as this crop is highly sensitive to standing water and promotes bacterial stalk rot.

• To control the attack of maize borer uproot the plants and burry them in the soil.
• To control the attack of shoot borer spray Coragen 18.5 SC (Chlorantraniliprole) @ 30 ml in 60 L water per acre.
• To control the attack of army worm spray neem seed kernel extracts @ 5ml/ L of water or Chloratriniliprole 18.5 SC @ 0.4 ml/L of water.
