Advice of experts related to sowing of Millet and Sorghum

Millet- Keeping weather condition in view, farmers are advised for sowing of bajra (Hybrid Bajra Pusa-605, Hybrid Bajra Pusa-415, Composite Bajra Pusa-383, HSV-67). Seed treatment is required for protection against Ergot. Seeds should be put in 10% salt solution, light and damaged seed should be removed and remaining seed should be dried and treated with Thiram or Bavistin @ 2.0 gm/ kg seed to protect from seed borne diseases.

Sorghum- Sowing of fodder sorghum specially Pusa Chari-9, Pusa Chari-6 or Other Hybrids can be done in this week. Seed rate should be 40 kg/ha. Fodder crop lobia can also be sown in this week. Maintain optimum soil moisture in the field.
