Punjab Government banned the use of 10 agricultural pesticides

Keeping human health in mind, farmers are advised to not use the following 10 pesticides at all;

1. Acephate

2. Chlorpyrifos3. Thiamethoxam

4. Carbendazim

5. Tricyclazole

6. Buprofezin

7. Profinophos

8. Propiconazole

9. Isoprothiolane

10. Methamidophos

Farmers are requested to stop using these pesticides on Basmati as other alternatives of these pesticides are available.

The dealers are instructed not to sell these pesticides to any farmer for the next two months. Violation of the instructions under Section 27 of The Insecticide Act 1968 is punishable with imprisonment of up to three years and a fine of up to Rs.75000/-.
