New varieties of Maize and Black Gram released by PAU

Punjab Baby Corn 1 (Baby Corn)- This single hybrid variety is best suited for baby corn.

• The average yield of this type of baby corn is 8.4 quintals per acre and the yield of fodder after completion of threshing of baby corn is 128 quintals per acre.

Black Gram 883 (Black Gram)- This variety matures in about 77 days and it’s average yield is 4.2 quintals per acre.
