Right Time to Prune Plum Plants

• Plum plants should undergo a light pruning every year by the first fortnight of January. 
• It is essential to remove thin, tangled, dry, diseased, or broken branches from the interior of the plant's canopy. 
• This practice facilitates the penetration of more light and air into the plant's canopy, resulting in higher-quality fruit. 
• Cuts/Wounds that exceed a thickness of 4-5 cm should be treated with a Bordeaux Mixture (2 kg of Copper Sulphate + 3 kg of Lime + 30 liters of Water).
