Horticulture Advisory from IMD

Agro forestry:

  • Transplant after onset of monsoon babul, subabul, khair, amla and prosopis nursery plant greon in polythene bags.
  • The saplings of eucalyptus and bamboo can also be transplanted.

Mushroom Cultivation:

  • Maintain room temperature 18-22oC and relative humidity around 85% for successful cultivation.
  • Maintain the room temperature and humidity using proper ventilation, fans and coolers if required and foggers for sprinkling water for maintaining humidity.

Floriculture:

  • Earthing up operation in gladiolus and disbudding in carnation can be taken up.
  • It is time for transplanting of summer annuals like gladiolus, portulaca, gomphrina and china aster etc.
  • Weather is conducive for appearance of aphids in rose, for control spray rogur @1 ml per litres of water.
  • This is the sowing time of seeds of marigold so that the crop can be harvested during October November.
  • Staking in chrysanthemum should be done and channels should be made in chrysanthemum fields.
  • In the low hill areas where the marigold crops is already in the field, if the market is not available, harvest and dry the petals for use in gulal and dyes.
