Dr. Harpal Singh, a distinguished scholar with a Ph.D. in Forestry specializing in Forest Products, Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, currently holds the position of Associate Professor in Agroforestry at the University Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Chandigarh University—an ICAR Accredited Institute. Within this academic role, he imparts knowledge in Undergraduate Courses, covering diverse subjects such as Introduction to Forestry, Production Technology of Spices, Plantation Crops, Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, and Agronomy focusing on Crop Production for both Kharif and Rabi Crops. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Dr. Harpal actively engages in various activities, including organizing and participating in DST INSPIRE School camps at the College Level. He plays a pivotal role in the celebration of Van Mahotsav (Forest Festival) in collaboration with the Forest Department. A luminary in the realm of research, Dr. Harpal spearheads the development of a crop cafeteria for the demonstration and field trials of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Spices, and Ornamental Crops. He serves as the Co-coordinator for Research and Development (R&D) in the NAAC program and holds the position of Major Advisor for M.Sc. Agriculture (Agronomy) students. Furthermore, his commitment to advancing knowledge is evident in his submitted research proposals to CSIR for the Aroma Mission and NMPB AYUSH for the development of the Institute Herbal Garden. Dr. Harpal's academic journey began with a BSc in Forestry from Dr. BR Ambedkar University, Agra, UP, in 2006. He pursued his M.Sc. in Forestry from HNB Garhwal (a Central University) in 2009, and his academic pursuits culminated in a Ph.D. from the Department of Forest Products, College of Forestry, Dr. YS Parmar UHF Nauni, Solan HP, specializing in Forestry (Forest Products) in 2014. His multifaceted contributions to academia, coupled with his dedication to research, underscore his position as a prominent figure in the field of Forestry and Agroforestry.
